WalkSOS

A giant white SOS banner that helps mountain rescue find you sooner.

The story

For hill walkers, runners and cyclists who have already called for help and now need to be spotted. The site sells the WalkSOS Distress Banner, a 1850 x 600 mm white sheet with SOS in red, and lets visitors see for themselves, with a real-distance slider, how much easier it makes them to spot from the air. It also carries route guides and plain advice on what to do while you wait for rescue.

The clever bit

The hero pull-back and distance slider run on real geometry: the on-screen size of a walker versus the banner matches what a search crew would actually see at that distance.
